Lifetouch Volunteers Give Back Through Hearts & Hammers
Working Together for a Common Purpose
Hearts & Hammers brings volunteers together to help homeowners complete projects that might otherwise be difficult to tackle alone. This year’s project united employees from across Lifetouch and Shutterfly, many of whom spent time painting, refreshing outdoor spaces, and helping improve the home’s exterior.
The project welcomed volunteers of all backgrounds and experience levels. Some brought specialized skills, while others simply brought a willingness to lend a hand. Together, they demonstrated the power of teamwork and the positive impact that can happen when people come together around a shared goal.
Throughout the project, volunteers worked alongside one another, built new connections, and experienced firsthand how even small acts of service can make a lasting difference.
An Artist's Thank You
What made the experience especially memorable was the homeowner herself.
Anita, a talented artist, found a unique way to express her gratitude to the volunteers who dedicated their time to the project. As a thank you, she created watercolor portraits of the individuals who helped transform her home’s outdoor spaces.
The portraits served as a touching reminder that community impact often works both ways. While volunteers gave their time, energy, and support, Anita shared her own creativity and generosity in return.
Her thoughtful gift captured the spirit of the week and the meaningful relationships formed along the way.
Living Our Values Beyond the Workplace
Volunteer opportunities like Hearts & Hammers reflect the values that bring Lifetouch and Shutterfly employees together. Beyond the work completed, the project reinforced the importance of showing up for one another and supporting the communities where we live and work.
Whether through preserving school memories, celebrating important milestones, or serving neighbors in need, we believe meaningful moments have the power to connect people and strengthen communities.
We are grateful to every volunteer who participated and helped make this year’s Hearts & Hammers project a success.
Looking Ahead
As we reflect on this experience, we’re reminded that meaningful moments come in many forms.
Sometimes they’re captured in a photograph. Sometimes they’re created through service.
This Hearts & Hammers project brought together volunteers, neighbors, and a community united by kindness and generosity. We are proud of the employees who contributed their time and talents, and we are grateful for the opportunity to help make a difference.
